Inflammation and Disease — Chronic inflammation plays a key role in diseases like heart disease, Alzheimer's, and is possibly linked to cancer. Our panel looks at how this understanding may aid in the development of new treatments. Guests include Lisa Coussens, associate professor of pathology in the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center; Cynthia Lemere, associate neuroscientist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and associate professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School; and Israel Charo, associate director and senior investigator at the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease and a professor of medicine at UCSF.
