The most destructive wildfires in the history of California continue to burn. At least 10 major fires have consumed over 500,000 acres of land. Homes in residential and resort areas have been destroyed or charred by the fires. The weather is becoming more friendly to firefighters' efforts, but many homes remain in danger.
