The highly anticipated new musical Wicked opens on Broadway tonight. It tells the back story of the Wicked Witch of the West, before she became so very wicked. Before it was a musical, Wicked was a novel — NPR's Mike Pesca talks to author Gregory Maguire about his series of books, which re-imagine well-known fairy tales.
