For much of the history of the United States, Quakers have played a role as pacifists. And now, says commentator Gustav Niebuhr, a new religious group is joining them as activists for peace: Buddhists. Gustav Niebuhr is a visiting fellow at the Center for the Study of Religion at Princeton University.
