Is your house the kind that would be featured in Architectural Digest — with neat, perfect rooms, with one book or magazine tastefully displayed near a vase of perfect blooms? For two days in New York, more than 500 design devotees, some of them professionals and some not, will line up to show their designs to the magazine's editors.

Finalists will be featured in Architectural Digest, and then readers will vote for their favorite.

Some of the people who lined up talk about their hopes of winning a spread in the magazine.
