Author Offers 'No Excuses' for Schools

NPR's Robert Siegel talks with Abigail Thernstrom, author of No Excuses: Closing the Racial Gap in Learning. She says black and Hispanic students are graduating from high school with an educational level roughly 4 grades lower than that of white and Asian students. Thernstrom offers ways to stop that decline.
