U.S. Forces Kill 54 Iraqis in Battles with Rebels

The U.S. military says 54 Iraqi insurgents were killed Sunday in the central Iraqi town of Samarra, after U.S. troops fought off simultaneous attacks against their convoys. Many of the dead were said to be wearing the uniforms of Saddam Hussein's Fedayeen militia. Hear NPR's Ivan Watson.
