ALISON STEWART, host:

This is THE BRYANT PARK PROJECT from NPR News.

We bring you the news, some information, and today, music - new releases of some old chestnuts. I'm Alison Stewart.

LUKE BURBANK, host:

And I'm Luke Burbank.

It's Tuesday, October 16th. And, you know, four out of five doctors medically agree that this is all you need to get by.

(Soundbite of music)

Ms. ARETHA FRANKLIN (Singer): (Singing) You're all I need to get by that as long as you got me, you know, baby, you know that you got me.

STEWART: I do hope you saved your pennies, because today, being released is a series of rare and unreleased tracks from Aretha Franklin, some recorded when she was just 21 years old. So we're going to tell you a little bit about that in our New Music Tuesday.

BURBANK: We get things all queued up before the show starts, and there's like pieces of tape that are flying out of people's computers you're hearing - most of it's annoying. Not this morning…

STEWART: Not this morning.

BURBANK: …when Aretha was blasting throughout the BPP bullpen.

Coming up on the show, speaking of music - yikes.

(Soundbite of laughter)

BURBANK: We're going to talk about an interview I did with the Icelandic band Sigur Ros. We put the video up on our Web site, and - well, an entire nation hates me. And I'm going to try to find out if that was my fault or the nation of Iceland's fault.

STEWART: We have a professional coming in…

BURBANK: Yes. Yes.

STEWART: …to coach you on music interviewing.

BURBANK: Yeah.

STEWART: We're also going to talk about Blog Action Day. I don't know if you know it or not, but yesterday was Blog Action Day. A bunch of bloggers got together and decided to talk about one topic. We'll find out if it worked. We'll also get to today's top stories from Rachel Martin in just a minute. But first, here is the BPP's Big Story.
