Employment Gains Lead Mixed Economic News

U.S. employers in November added to their payrolls for the fourth straight month, but the 57,000 new jobs significantly trail expectations. Health care employment continued to expand, but manufacturing jobs fell for the 39th straight month. Also, the retail sector contracted due to the supermarket strike spreading from California to other parts of the country. NPR's Jim Zarroli reports.
