Remembering Thurgood Marshall

NPR's Alex Chadwick speaks with author Carl Rowan and NPR's Nina Totenberg about the legacy of retired Supreme Court Jusice Thurgood Marshall upon his death. As general counsel for the NAACP, Marshall successfully challenged racial segregation in schools in the landmark 1954 case Brown vs. Board of Education. He later became the first African-American to be appointed to the Supreme Court, where he served for nearly a quarter-century.
