Despite his forced resignation a year ago as head of the Boston Archdiocese, Cardinal Bernard Law remains an influential leader in the Catholic church. From his new base in Maryland, he travels often on Vatican business. His role angers alleged victims of the clergy sex-abuse scandal that Law was accused of mishandling.
