PC Firms Branch Out to Boost Profits
Computer companies looking to boost revenues set their sights on the $22-billion market for consumer electronics, which has profit margins as high as 30 percent. Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Gateway are now offering consumers home-entertainment products such as TVs, DVD recorders and MP3 players. NPR's John McChesney reports.
