Drought in South Is Normal Part of Climate

The drought affecting Atlanta in part stems from the way Atlanta sits on relatively high ground, says Michael Hayes, Director of the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He says precipitation in Atlanta naturally runs down to its shared basin with Florida. Hayes speaks with Steve Inskeep.
