For this week's Snapshot, a reporter is freed to form an opinion. Last week, veteran news reporter Carole Simpson publicly endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential bid. She had never done anything like that in her life; it was the first time she could.

Simpson, a former ABC News correspondent, is now journalism professor at Emerson College.
