Unemployment-Pay Extension to End Soon

Starting this week, jobless workers whose regular state-unemployment benefits run out will no longer receive a three-month extension from the federal government. The White House has not taken action to restore a program instituted last year that extended unemployment payments to nine months. NPR's Kathleen Schalch reports.
