NPR's Steve Inskeep talks to Bahram Akashe, a professor of seismology at the University of Tehran, about the earthquake in Bam. For more than two decades Akashe has warned officials of the need to construct reinforced buildings throughout Iran. Many houses in Bam were built of mud bricks.
