Tests Confirm U.S. Mad Cow Came from Canada
U.S. agriculture officials say tests confirm that the Washington state Holstein cow infected with mad cow disease was born on a dairy farm in Alberta, Canada. Federal workers have begun to slaughter a herd of 449 bull calves that includes the offspring of the infected Holstein. Hear NPR's Renee Montagne and NPR's Joanne Silberner.
