U.S. Beef Industry Manages Mad Cow Fears
Last month's discovery of mad cow disease in Washington state touched off a crisis for U.S. beef producers. With billions of dollars at stake, cattle ranchers and meatpackers united to convince consumers of the safety of U.S. beef. Strong sales figures suggest their efforts have been successful.
