NPR's Michele Norris talks with Robin Gihvan, fashion editor for The Washington Post, about the retirement of Tom Ford, the creative director for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Ford transformed the Gucci brand with sexy sleek clothing for both women and men. His designs also often drifted from high fashion down to the masses, influencing mainstream styles.
