In an op-ed in Sunday's Los Angeles Times, author Garry Wills argues that there is no theological basis for defending or condemning abortion. He says that the misconception that abortion is a religious issue is at the heart of the highly charged political debate.

Wills is the author of Head and Heart: American Christianities and What Jesus Meant.
