White House Unveils Plans to Boost Manufacturing

The Bush administration releases a report on the decline of the U.S. manufacturing sector and proposals on how to reverse it. The White House plans to call for permanent tax cuts and to create a new assistant-secretary position in the Commerce Department focused on manufacturing. NPR's Kathleen Schalch reports.
