Rep. Billy Tauzin (R-LA) is considering a job offer from the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Research Association, a powerful drug industry lobby group. As chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, Tauzin was instrumental in passing the new Medicare law, which gives the drug industry a market worth billions of dollars.
