Many fall films explore conflict in the Middle East and U.S. involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They include Rendition, In the Valley of Elah and Lions for Lambs, as well as upcoming dramas such as Redacted, The Kite Runner, and Grace is Gone.

But so far, this spate of post-Sept. 11 films hasn't done very well at the box office.
