Maine's Tobacco-Delivery Law Faces Test

text sizeAAA
November 28, 2007

The Supreme Court heard arguments Wednesday on Maine's law aimed at further restricting children's access to tobacco.

The law bans delivery companies from handing over packages of tobacco products to dealers who are on a list of those known to operate without a license. They also must not deliver tobacco products to anyone under age 27 who doesn't show identification.

Two lower courts have ruled against the Maine law.
