Philadelphia-based singer Ben Arnold flirted with major-label stardom in the mid-'90s, but in recent years has found success writing songs for television (including the cult hit Joan of Arcadia) and building a cult following as a performer who gets compared to Bob Dylan. Hear Arnold perform a concert from WXPN and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
Arnold first reached a national audience with the release of 1995's Almost Speechless, which laid the groundwork for a string of critically acclaimed independent albums, as well as tours with everyone from Ben Folds to Lucinda Williams. Arnold was also the first singer/songwriter to be signed to his hometown Ropeadope label, which released Arnold's Nevermind My Blues in October.
