NPR's Melissa Block talks with Scott Shafer of the California Report about the wedding of two longtime lesbian activists at San Francisco City Hall. The event was described as civil disobedience and was coordinated by the city's new mayor, Gavin Newsome. He says he would like San Francisco to take the lead in giving same-sex couples the right to marry, even though California law defines marriage as between a man and woman.
