The New York Yankees snag Alex Rodriguez, the American League's Most Valuable Player, from the Texas Rangers in a stunning deal on the eve of spring training. Observers expect baseball commissioner Bud Selig to sign off on the deal, which will send All-Star Alfonso Soriano and another Yankee player to Texas.
