Slate's Chatterbox: Nixon and Bush's NASCAR Strategy
President Bush's visit to the Daytona 500 on Sunday reminded Slate associate editor Bryan Curtis of another sports pilgrimage by another wartime president -- disgraced President Richard Nixon's trip to the Texas-Arkansas college football "Game of the Century" in 1969.
