Russia's Vladimir Putin, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Pakistan's Pervez Musharraf represent a new breed of politician according to Jonathan Becker, dean and associate professor of political studies at Bard College. Madeleine Brand talks to Becker about these "new authoritarians" — leaders who espouse democratic ideals, but use restrictive methods to maintain control.
