Correction Jan. 8, 2008
The audio for this story contains an inaccuracy: Only six of the eight suspects in the "L.A. 8" case were Muslim.
In one of the longest running terrorism cases in U.S. history, the government has dropped charges against the last two Palestinian-born defendants in what became known as the "L.A. 8" case. The case may have foreshadowed post-Sept. 11 efforts to deport Muslims accused of having ties to terrorists. Six of the eight suspects in the case are Muslim.
