Queen Elizabeth's Christmas Address on YouTube
Fifty years ago, Britain's Queen Elizabeth delivered her annual Christmas message on television for the first time. This Christmas will be another landmark for the 81-year-old monarch.
Over the weekend, she launched her own video site on YouTube. It's called the Royal Channel. Queen Elizabeth will use it to broadcast her Christmas message far beyond the borders of the realm.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said the queen always keeps up with new ways of communicating with people and hopes to reach a wider, younger audience through the popular video-sharing site. Less savvy subjects needn't fear though — the speech will still be broadcast on the tube.
