Toys that Withstand the Test of Time
Every year, we hear about the hot toy to give — but how many of those hot items actually become a child's favorite toy? To find out, we asked our NPR colleagues to tell us about their favorite childhood plaything. No Cabbage Patch Kids, no Tickle Me Elmos, and no Xboxes are mentioned, though we've got an Annie Oakley outfit, a battleship, and a wooden labyrinth with holes and a little metal ball that Joe Palca still can't get enough of.
