Serenading the Border

NPR's John Burnett shares his favorite tape from 2007: the soulful sounds of Victor Valdez, who sings sad songs for tourists crossing the Rio Grande, just below his home town of Boquillas, Mexico. Regardless of whether they give him tips, he persists, ankle-deep in water.
