Europe Fines Microsoft $613 Million

The European Commission punishes Microsoft with a $613 million fine for what it calls an abuse of monopolistic practices. The decision includes measures meant to improve competition in the computer software market. The ruling will force Microsoft to offer a version of Windows in Europe that doesn't include its Media Player software. The company plans to appeal. NPR's Nick Spicer reports.
