Calculating Mutual Fund Returns

As investors' 2007 mutual fund statements start rolling in, the hard work of calculating portfolio returns begins. The biggest mistake people make is not keeping a handle on how well their portfolio is performing. Jonathan Clements, personal finance columnist for The Wall Street Journal, discusses how to calculate what your returns were, and how to invest in 2008.
