The non-profit group Earth Pledge transforms urban rooftops into gardens by planting vegetation over the entirety of the roofs. In addition to creating vegetable and flower gardens, Green Roofs create a natural insulation system, absorb rainwater and lower city temperatures. Green Roofs Director Colin Cheney tells NPR's Linda Wertheimer why it's easy being green.
