Snow cyclist Jill Homer is training to bike 350 miles in February's human-powered Iditarod. Along the way, she's meeting some interesting critters.
Among the most impressive is a wolf named Romeo, a legendary loner of Juneau, Alaska. Romeo lives near a lake outside of town, and he likes to approach people and their dogs. He seems friendly — mostly.
Last winter, Romeo grabbed a beagle, a pug and a Pomeranian. He dropped the beagle and, as you can see in this slideshow, the pug. The Pomeranian is still missing.
Jill Homer blogs at Up in Alaska.
On our blog, an open thread: Listener proposes finding Romeo a Juliette.
