January 22, 2008 from WXPN - Formerly a leading member of the '80s pop band Del Amitri, Scottish singer and songwriter Justin Currie has used his style and wit to release his debut solo album What Is Love For. After six albums and great success with Del Amitri, Currie participated in a variety of other acts including the band Button Up, which performed soul and jazz covers on a short tour of Scotland. In 2004, he along with Kevin and Jim McDermott released A Terrible Beauty, a comedy rock album.

His latest release is an album unsurprisingly defined by its dry humor and self-criticism. The album is rich and emotional, incorporating everything from love to loss to selfishness. According to Currie, "These songs represent the end of my youth."
