Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon vows to maintain five major Jewish settlements in the West Bank. He has outlined a plan to evacuate Israeli troops and settlers from the Gaza Strip, but says the five West Bank areas he cited will remain part of Israel. The comments came as Sharon prepared to meet with President Bush Wednesday at his Texas ranch. NPR's Julie McCarthy reports.
