NPR's Art Silverman wondered why the Internal Revenue Service gives private taxpayers an April 15 deadline for filing. In a quest for an answer, he meanders through Washington, D.C. to find the truth. Along the way people speculate, often incorrectly. Finally the IRS sends a spokesman out to set the record straight.
