Nearly 100 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq so far in April, the deadliest month since President Bush declared major combat over last May. The latest American casualties came this weekend, when five Marines were killed and at least 12 others wounded in an attack by several hundred insurgents in far western Iraq, near the border with Syria. Hear NPR's Bob Edwards and St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Ron Harris.
