High Court Restricts Judges on Death Penalty

The Supreme Court rules that only juries, not judges, may decide if a crime involves aggravating factors that make the perpetrator eligible for the death penalty. The justices will now consider whether their ruling should be retroactive to past cases. If so, more than 100 death-row inmates will get new sentences. NPR's Nina Totenberg reports.
