Veteran diplomat John Negroponte will face enormous challenges if he is confirmed as the U.S. ambassador to Iraq. Negroponte headed two large embassies in the past, in Mexico and the Philippines. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee holds confirmation hearings Tuesday. NPR's Michele Kelemen reports.
