Middle East Simmers After Violent Week

A new round of violence flares in the Middle East. More than a dozen Israeli soldiers died in Gaza this week, while more than two dozen Palestinians were killed in the same period. A demonstration planned for Saturday will support Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's plan to withdraw from Gaza. Hear NPR's Scott Simon and NPR's Julie McCarthy.
