Gen. John Abizaid, head of U.S. Central Command, and Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, top U.S. military commander in Iraq, tell the Senate Armed Services Committee that they accept responsibility for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners in U.S. custody. Both men say they only became aware of the abuse through media reports, and promise that the investigation will go as far up the chain of command as needed. Hear NPR's David Welna.
