Generals: No Widespread Abuse in Iraq
Gen. John Abizaid, the commander overseeing Iraq and Afghanistan, says that while he takes responsibility for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. personnel, no widespread pattern of abuse existed. Abizaid and Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, the top commander in Iraq, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the abuse investigation will include the entire chain of command.
