NPR's Ivan Watson reports from Tashkent about ongoing human rights abuses in the former Soviet republic of Uzbekistan. A mother has told her government that she will not bury her son, who was allegedly killed while in police custody, until foreign investigators look into his death. The U.S. State Department has called for Uzbekistan to launch an investigation into the case.
