The power and influence of cleric Muqtada al-Sadr in Iraq has been the subject of much debate — especially given several months of conflicts with U.S. and Iraqi officials. NPR's Robert Siegel speaks with David Patel, a doctoral student at Stanford University, who spent much of the last year in southern Iraq.
