A man in Germany asked his girlfriend not to smoke, but she ignored him and lit up a cigarette. So he decided to put it out with a fire extinguisher.

STEVE INSKEEP, host:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.

It's safe to say that this relationship is over. A man in Germany asked his girlfriend not to smoke, but she ignored him and lit up a cigarette. If she thought he wouldn't do anything about it she apparently did not count on the fire extinguisher, which the boyfriend sprayed in her direction. It caked the girlfriend and their apartment in powder. Police say the man doesn't care about the damage he caused. And he did put out that cigarette.
