NPR's Academy Awards Photo-Caption Contest

Update: More than 1,000 comments later, we've declared the winners. But it's not too late for you to play. So click on through to the Bryant Park Project blog, and write a caption or two.

Writing captions on deadline: No fun. That's where you come in.

So sharpen your wits, dust off your pop-culture encyclopedia and join us for a photo-caption contest. We'll post selected shots from the red carpet, the presenter's podium, and the winners' circle. You write the captions. (Nothing too mean, now: This is NPR, after all.)

Think witty, think smart, think different. Make us laugh, make us cry, make us spit champagne at Ryan Seacrest — and your caption could end up in an NPR slideshow.
